The
Kingston & St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has taken the decision
to grant 2 permits for events with amplified music (Parties) at Hope Gardens
and Hope Zoo. This decision has been made in the wake of the complaints received from the neighbouring communities
regarding the alleged noise pollution.
Applications for events will still be approved on an individual basis despite
these new developments.
The Local Economic Development Officer, David
Wright stated that this a short-term remedy
until the KSAC has sorted-out implementation of a proper decibel monitoring
system for both Gardens and the Zoo.
In the meantime the Gardens and Zoo are opened
for bookings for other events such as
birthday parties, weddings, picnics, baby showers just to name a few. For
